Trans Am Worldwide, the firm responsible for the Trans Am versions of modern Camaros, has developed the 70/SS, a fresh take on the classic 1970 Chevy Chevelle.

An 800 horsepower hardtop version of the 70/SS – the current-day Chevelle – hits the streets at SEMA.

The Trans Am sold over 117,000 units in 1979, but the next year brought a massive decline to only 50,000 cars. The drop got even more dramatic in 1981 when Pontiac produced only 33,000 Trans Ams.

The Pontiac Trans Am is one of the most iconic muscle cars ever made, and while the car (and the brand) isn't around anymore, every generation was interesting.
