Some meteorologists and tornado researchers believe the region dubbed “tornado alley” is beginning to shift east.
Typically, we consider the heart of Tornado Alley to be in the Plains of North Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. That was not the case during the past decade.
Is Kentucky in Tornado Alley? No. The region is often loosely defined, but the core of Tornado Alley encompasses Midwestern states such as South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
Tornado Alley is really all of the U.S. east of the Rockies and west of the Appalachians for most of the year. The farther south you live, the longer your tornado season lasts.
