A severe thunderstorm watch from the NWS remains active across parts of north central Texas early this morning.

The bill follows President Donald Trump's executive order that directed federal agencies to change the body of water's name to the "Gulf of America" on federal maps.

According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, much of Texas is now under drought watch — with the exception of North and Northeast Texas, where a series of recent thunderstorms brought some relief.
