The Trump administration said Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was living in Maryland but entered the country illegally in 2011, was deported to an El Salvador prison due to an administrative error.

A Maryland man wrongly deported to a notoriously violent prison in El Salvador told a U.S. senator that he was traumatized by the experience.

I think the entire country has to be courageous and stand up in this moment and demand that this cannot happen,” Garcia said.
