Backstage Reaction To Je'Von Evans Signing WWE Raw Contract During Commercial Break
The segment of Je'Von Evans becoming a member of the "WWE Raw" roster during a commercial break reportedly caused confusion backstage.
Likely to protect his status as an unbeatable force, WWE chose to have Femi win his match over Leon Slater. Either they didn't feel Slater was the right guy, or NXT wants to hold some kind of tournament to crown a new champion. That would leave talents like Ricky Saints or Ethan Page as possible favorites.
When NXT was created, it was designed to be a stepping stone to the main roster. While WWE has tried to give the brand its own identity as a third tier, it's still a developmental system, and that means every NXT talent's goal should be to end up on Raw or SmackDown.
