MANILA (Reuters) - The highly contagious and deadly African swine fever virus has spread to two more provinces in the Philippines, the world's 10th-largest pork consumer, officials said on Friday.
The first super typhoon of the season in the West Pacific made a close approach to the Eastern Philippines this weekend. Monday morning, Surigae’s maximum wind speed decreased to 140 mph (220 kph).
