The black and blue plates from the 1980s would join Michigan’s navy-and-yellow “Water-Winter Wonderland” plate that was brought back in late 2021 after first appearing in the 1960s.
The design of the plates will remain the same as they have since 2007 — a light blue plate with part of the state seal in white in the background and "KANSAS" in serifed letters at the top.
The light blue plates come with the red, white and blue sesquicentennial logo on the left, and the words "Star of the North Sesquicentennial" printed across the bottom.
