Norwich University cadet Daniel Bermudez.Bermudez collapsed during training drills at the school’s Vermont campus on Wednesday, and died a short time later at a local hospital, police said Friday.

A cadet formerly from Connecticut died suddenly at Norwich University in Vermont this week, university officials confirmed Friday.

Vermont continues to have vital centers of higher learning, with institutions such as Bennington College, Norwich University, Middlebury College, the University of Vermont and several more.

Norwich has drawn criticism for its suspension of The Guidon, which came after the newspaper published multiple articles critical of the university’s administration.
