Kasey Kahne is coming out of retirement to drive the No. 33 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing at Rockingham Speedway.

Kasey Kahne, who last raced in NASCAR in 2018, will return to compete for Richard Childress Racing in the Xfinity Series race April 19 at Rockingham Speedway, the team announced Friday. The 44-year-old Kahne will drive a third entry for RCR. He will be in the No. 33 car. HendrickCars.com will sponsor the car.

Once a NASCAR Cup Series fan-favorite, Kasey Kahne has been completely out of the sport for several years. But come April, all that changes.

In retrospect, Harvick’s career at RCR exemplifies the synergy between a driver and a team dedicated to excellence. His 13 years at Richard Childress Racing not only enhanced his status in NASCAR but also cemented RCR’s reputation as a breeding ground for champions, forever altering the landscape of the sport.

Kahne has had a diverse NASCAR career, driving for Evernham Motorsports, Richard Petty Motorsports, Red Bull Racing and Hendrick Motorsports. In his 15-year Cup career, he won 18 times and earned four crown jewel victories, including three Coca-Cola 600 wins.
