Hurricane Kiko is swirling in the Pacific Ocean and heading west in a direction toward Hawaii.

Hurricane Kiko was tracking to the north of the Hawaii an islands, diminishing the threat of strong winds and widespread rain, the National Weather Service said Saturday.

While some fluctuations in intensity are possible through Sunday, gradual weakening is forecast by early next week as the system encounters cooler waters.
