New trucks for new engine An MP7-equipped highway tractor built on the Mack Advantage chassis was unveiled, called the Pinnacle.

Mack said the MP7 engine will improve fuel economy compared with its current 12-liter engine, and help prepare a broad range of customers for changes in emission controls coming in 2007.

Mack Trucks announced Sept. 8 the new Mack MP7 405 Super Econodyne engine, available with up to 405 hp and 1,560 lb.-ft. of torque.

Mack Trucks is now offering a new MP7 engine for regional and bulk haul applications up to 80,000 lbs. The MP7 405 Super Econodyne (SE) engine produces 405 hp. and 1,560 lbs.-ft. of torque.

The MP7 is the least powerful diesel in the Mack engine lineup. Mack MP7 horsepower ratings fall into the 325 to 425 range, while delivering between 1,260 and 1,560 lb-ft of torque.
