Ohioans to receive alerts when inmates escape correctional facilities under new law
Ohio residents will soon receive mobile emergency alerts when felony offenders escape from correctional facilities. Gov.
Gov. Mike DeWine signed a bill into law earlier this week that looks to create an escaped convict alert system.
Local law enforcement can alert the area surrounding a jail, workhouse or correctional institution when a convicted felon escapes custody, the legislation text says.
