Hitman developer IO Interactive is keeping busy. In addition to a fantasy new IP, the studio is developing 007: First Light, a game previously known for its working title Project 007. Lots more new information about the game emerged during the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play, including the game's release date, cast, story, and more.

Interestingly, the very first pitch of 007 First Light featured a more familiar face as Bond, as IO modelled Daniel Craig onto Agent 47 to pitch the game. But I wouldn't expect to see Craig in First Light, as the devs have gone through "all the source material" to nail their own version of James Bond.

F rankly, the Nintendo 64's Goldeneye: 007 has spent the last three decades running cover for a long line of middling-to-bad James Bond video games.
