The ice castles in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin have had to close early for the season because of the warmer than normal weather.

Ice Castles at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin typically opens in mid-to-late January and only remains open for about four weeks.

Volunteer firefighters in Eagle River, WI build the castle using more than 2,300 blocks of ice cut from a nearby lake.

Crews from the Eagle River Fire Department completed an ice castle there on Jan. 12, the first time since 2022 that cold weather allowed the build.
