Robert John, the singer-songwriter who scored a Number One hit in 1979 with his song, 'Sad Eyes,' has died at the age of 79.

Boyfriend or not, JoJo Siwa's cover of "Bette Davis Eyes" only deepens the song's history as an unofficial queer classic.

Brown started out in the '40s and influenced a host of singers, including Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin. Her hits include "Teardrops from My Eyes." She died in 2006. Originally broadcast in 1997.
