HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Henry County police have released new details in a shooting that injured a 2-year-old. Investigators now say it was the toddler’s twin who accidentally fired the gun. NewsChopper 2 flew over the home on Robin Hood Lane on Wednesday where police said the shooting happened around 12 p.m.

A 2-year-old is on the mend after they were accidentally shot, Georgia police told news outlets. Henry County police responded around noon Wednesday, March 12, to the shooting at a home in Hampton, WAGA reported. Fire rescue crews at the scene treated the injured toddler, who was then flown to a hospital, according to the station.

A child was rushed to a hospital after being shot at a Henry County home Wednesday, officials said. Officers were called to the 200 block of Robin Hood Lane, just outside of Hampton, around noon regarding the shooting. There, they treated the gunshot victim, who was then flown to a hospital, Henry police spokesman Capt. Randy Lee said.
