The UK Royal Navy's (RN's) flagship aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth has reached the midway mark of its first planned major maintenance period since commissioning.

The diesel-powered HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) entered service in 2020. This was three years after the commissioning of the U.S.' most advanced nuclear carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78).
