A tropical depression has formed in the Gulf, and it could become the second tropical storm of 2025 by Sunday. The National Hurricane Center on Saturday afternoon said Tropical Depression Two formed in the southern Gulf, or Bay of Campeche, and issued a tropical storm warning for part of Mexico’s Gulf Coast.

The odds of development remain low, but there’s a chance a developing storm could spell a soggy Fourth of July weekend in the Southeast.
