If there was ever any questioning Toyota's seriousness with the GR performance brand, one drive in a GR Yaris will put doubts to rest.

Toyota has released a track-focused smartphone app in Japan for owners of the GR Yaris and Lexus LBX Morizo RR. The app claims to cut turbo lag by controlling boost pressure to allow speedier pickup.

Toyota's Gazoo Racing division has produced some truly memorable cars, but those produced with the special GR badge have legacy all their own.

Although awesome in every imaginable way, the Toyota GR Yaris is pricey. In fact, it costs more than a brand-new BMW 3 Series in the United Kingdom. The sports sedan starts at £40,205 ($50.815).

The GR Yaris already has a fairly aggressive cabin, though. Toyota made no mention of putting the Aero Package Prototype into production. However, these components seem like production-viable parts.
