NASA and India’s ISRO have launched a cutting-edge Earth-observing satellite called NISAR, equipped with the most advanced radar systems ever flown. This historic collaboration will scan nearly the entire planet every 12 days,

NISAR will provide scientists with valuable data as it monitors ice-sheet changes, sea-level rises, ecosystems shifts and more. According to NASA, the satellite will scan forests and wetlands and study both human-driven and natural changes to these environments.

India will launch the NISAR Earth-observing spacecraft, a joint effort of ISRO and NASA, on July 30, and you can watch the action live.
