As of Tuesday, April 29, there were 101 wildfires burning across Florida, burning 3,556 acres. Twenty-two counties have issued burn bans, which is almost one-third of the state. The mean statewide drought index has increased again, to 477, up eight points from Monday.

Increasing temperatures and a slower start to the wet season are creating an increased wildfire risk throughout Florida.
