A federal appeals court panel has put on hold a lower court judge’s order to wind down operations of the immigration detention center in the Florida Everglades dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz.”

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has paused a lower court ruling that ordered the closure of the Alligator Alcatraz detention facility in the Florida Everglades. U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams issued the original order last month.
