Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald and Patrick Simmons of The Doobie Brothers learned they were among this year's inductees to the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The class of 2025 for the Songwriters Hall of Fame have been announced and they include George Clinton and The Doobie Brothers for their contribution to music.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame's class of 2025 inductees includes P-Funk founder George Clinton, Doobie Brothers, country hitmaker Ashley Gorley, more.

On Wednesday (January 22), the Songwriters Hall of Fame revealed their inductee class of 2025. This year’s distinguished inductees feature the leader of Parliament/Funkadelic, George Clinton; award-winning country music songwriter,

George Clinton, The Doobie Brothers, Mike Love of the Beach Boys, and other artists will be honored at a ceremony in June.

McDonald is a five-time Grammy winner. Simmons and Jerkins are both two-time Grammy winners. All three musicians have won record of the year — McDonald and Simmons as performers on The Doobie Brothers’ “What a Fool Believes”; Jerkins for co-producing Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me (Darkchild Mix),” the subtitle a nod to Jerkins’ nickname.

The 2025 list of honorees for the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame has been unveiled. This morning, January 22, CBS’ Senior Culture Correspondent
