It’s easy to pile on Jalen Carter. He deserves it. The All-Pro defensive tackle welcomed the Dallas Cowboys with a gift in the Eagles’ Thursday night victory at Lincoln Financial Field. After the season-opening kickoff, Carter spit on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott right in front of a referee after approaching the Dallas huddle.

The Eagles defense struggled early following the ejection of Jalen Carter and the unraveling of Adoree’ Jackson. But late in the third quarter, when the Cowboys, still down, 24-20, were at the Eagles’ 11-yard line, Jihaad Campbell punched the ball out of Miles Sanders’ hands, and Quinyon Mitchell scooped it up, reigniting the defensive effort.

As we head into the first Sunday of the NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys are one of the few teams that have already played in 2025. The outcome wasn’t what anybody was hoping for, and the Cowboys’ All-Pros have caught the majority of the flak for it.
