As a result, child actors never really grow up, or, more precisely, having grown up once, early, like a forced flower, they stay the age they were when their careers ended. No one is more permanently precocious than a former child star.

A known child actor went missing nearly 20 years ago, and the case remains just as much of a mystery as it was when it was first reported. Joe Pichler was known on the big screen in the noughties when he starred in two Beethoven movies as a teenager. However, just a couple of years later, he would vanish without a trace.

“Dick York was a dad, and he had a lot of kids, and he was just more paternal,” Murphy explained. “So he was more like a dad. Dick Sargent was a great guy, and we were in touch up until he passed away [in 1994]. But I'm going with Dick York on this one.”
