A man is behind bars after officials say he shot a firework at a helicopter to “protest” a Cherokee County wedding venue.

A crash on a busy Cherokee County highway killed a Hall County father of two over the Memorial Day weekend.

In 2013, a young mother was found dead in a car set ablaze on the Qualla Boundary. On Aug. 16, her estranged husband pleaded guilty to her murder.
