Temple won its first conference road game in nearly four years Saturday, breaking open a tight game early to rout Charlotte.

The Charlotte 49ers (1-4) travel to Blaik Field at Michie Stadium to face the Army Black Knights (2-3) in an American Conference College Football matchup.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte has fired athletic director Mike Hill just 13 months after he signed a four-year extension, the university announced Thursday. Jesh Humphrey, vice chancellor for institutional integrity and general counsel, will oversee the department on an interim basis.

Charlotte led by 10 early and went into halftime tied with North Texas, but the Mean Green pulled away after the break.

Temple held a seven-point advantage against Charlotte early in the second quarter and aimed to fully establish dominance. But the 49ers had other plans as quarterback Grayson Loftis completed a 32-yard pass to wide receiver Derrick Eley, entering the Owls’ territory with a chance to knot the score.
