Carnival Ambassador John Heald issued a statement that was shared by Facebook personality Jayson Judson reminding cruise-goers that hanging laundry out to try on the balcony is not allowed.

The ship, Carnival Magic, departed Norfolk on Thursday, May 25, and headed towards the Bahamas. It returned on the morning of Tuesday, May 30, while the search effort continued.

The US Coast Guard said that it was actively searching for the 35-year-old man who went overboard the Carnival Magic cruise ship on Monday morning.

Ronnie Lee Peale Jr. fell into the water early Monday after he leaned over a balcony railing on the Carnival Magic ship, officials said.
