Gayle King is reportedly stepping down from “CBS Mornings” next year. The news anchor may switch to a different role within the network, although that has not yet been confirmed, sources told Variety Thursday evening.

“There have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026," a CBS News spokesperson said in a statement shared with People Oct. 30.

King told the reporter, “All I can say is this: From what I’m being told inside this building…is that they want me here. They like the job I’m doing. I like the job I’m doing!”
