After struggling to build and sustain momentum at 5-on-5, the Capitals came out last night and put up a solid, complete effort in a 3-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks, handing them their second shutout loss in three games in the process.

The Ducks were coming off of a bounce-back overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday after back-to-back losing efforts against the St. Louis Blues and Philadelphia Flyers where they were outscored 12-2.

Terry returns after missing three games for the birth of his child, but Logan Thompson makes 18 saves and the Ducks get blanked for the second time in three games, 3-0.

So go the offensive woes for the Anaheim Ducks, who suffered their second shutout loss in three games last night against the Washington Capitals (Jan. 14).
