Will Venable hit the clubhouse early on Sunday after the Chicago White Sox manager was thrown out in the first inning against the Texas Rangers. His early exit did lead to a fantastic line from a White Sox broadcaster.
The White Sox manager was quickly ejected from the game after arguing strikes and balls with home plate umpire Marvin Hudson. Venable and Hudson got into a heated exchange, trading a few words before the manager was sent away.
Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. was a late scratch at the Texas Rangers due to right thumb soreness.
"I have him penciled in the lineup for Tuesday, give him the day and see where he’s at," manager Will Venable said. "We expect him to be in on Tuesday."
After a 5-4, 11-inning loss to the Texas Rangers on Saturday, the Chicago White Sox will look to bounce back Sunday with new arrival Aaron Civale on the mound.
