TAIPEI (Reuters) - Taiwan President Lai Ching-te thanked the air force on Friday for their "outstanding" work during Chinese war games around the island earlier this week, telling them to keep up the good work.

China used a record 153 military aircraft in war games around Taiwan, the island's government said on Tuesday, adding that such drills without prior warning were a danger to the entire region.

B" war games came on the heels of Taiwan's National Day and were meant as a "stern warning," China's military said.
