Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he is prepared to step aside once peace in his country is achieved. On Wednesday, Mr Zelensky revealed that he is "ready not to go for the second term because it’s not my goal".

Volodymyr Zelensky met privately with Donald Trump at the UN this week to ask for an "additional weapons system" to force Russia to the negotiating table.

In a discussion at the U.N. this week, Trump didn’t commit to ending restrictions his administration has had in place for months.
