On Tuesday night, in New York City, they united in a special talk show crossover of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS.

Kimmel described his show’s suspension as an “emotional roller coaster” while Colbert discussed how he learned that his show had been canceled.

“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert said President Donald Trump managed to fall for “the most cuckoo banana pants health flim-flam on the entire internets” when he shared ― then deleted ― a wild AI video over the weekend.

Colbert said he was very nervous when going back on stage to deliver the news, made worse by the fact that there was no teleprompter. The late-night host recalls the audience snickering at first, thinking it was a joke. But when he finally said his piece, no one was laughing.

The rumor circulated shortly after ABC briefly suspended Kimmel's show over remarks the comedian made about the political aftermath of the Sept. 10 assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
