A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest in an attack in a city centre, police have said. The teenager was found in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, at about 17:25 GMT on Saturday, following an incident in Arundel Street. He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

NAGANO - A man was arrested on Jan 26 in connection with last week’s stabbing attack in front of JR Nagano Station that left one person dead and two injured, police said.

A Chinese man who carried out a knife attack in eastern China last June that wounded a Japanese woman and her child and killed a bus attendant trying to protect them has been sentenced to death, according to a Japanese official.

The sentence for the knife attack in the southern city of Shenzhen in September was handed down on Friday, according to Japanese media reports. It comes a day after another court handed a death sentence to a Chinese man who attacked a Japanese mother and child and killed a Chinese woman who tried to protect them in Suzhou province in June.
