On Sunday, September 28, 40-year-old Nigel Edge was arrested for the mass shooting in Southport, North Carolina on Sunday that killed three and injured five. After' Edge's identification, several details have been revealed about the Oak Island resident who allegedly opened fire from a boat on the Intracoastal Waterway at a live music event hosted by the American Fish Company.

Accused gunman Nigel Edge, formerly named Sean DeBevoise, once accompanied American Idol star Kellie Pickler to the CMT Music Awards, it has emerged.

A suspect in a shooting that killed three and injured several others was once an escort for NC country singer Kellie Pickler from "American Idol."

The shooting took place at American Fish Company in Southport, with the shooter escaping in a boat on the Intercoastal Waterway behind the bar. A short time later, the US Coast Guard detained the suspect, Nigel Max Edge, in the neighboring community of Oak Island, where police were reportedly “familiar” with the suspected gunman.
