On May 15, Alaska Airlines is launching its daily nonstop flight between San Diego and Medford, a city with a population of around 90,000 in southwestern Oregon, roughly halfway between Portland and San Francisco.

Alaska Airlines announced Tuesday it will begin offering nonstop flights between San Diego International Airport and Rogue Valley International Airport in Medford, Ore. on May 15.

Organizers signed a new agreement Tuesday to keep one of San Diego's largest events, Comic-Con, in the city through at least 2027.

Comic-Con will stay in San Diego for at least three more summers. The organizers of the annual four-day convention that since the 1970s has grown to be one of the most anticipated events in popular culture announced Tuesday the signing of a new agreement to remain in San Diego through 2027.

"Comic-Con is part of San Diego's identity, and I couldn't be more thrilled to announce that it will remain here through 2027," Mayor Todd Gloria said.

U.S. national team midfielder Jaedyn Shaw has been acquired by the North Carolina Courage in a trade with the San Diego Wave. In the deal announced Tuesday, the Wave receive $300,000 in allocation money,
