The Department of Homeland Security is seeking to send 100 military troops to Chicago, according to Gov. JB Pritzker, who assailed the move as the Trump administration’s latest — yet not unforeseen — push to consolidate power.

Speaking at a press conference in Chicago on Monday, Illinois, Democratic Governor JB Pritzker called out President Trump over ICE raids in the city and said he “lied” about who Immigration is targeting.

This comes after a federal agent fired a pepper ball at a CBS News Chicago reporter outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Broadview.
