Firefighters from two agencies were injured Thursday after a roof collapsed. The Northeast Nelson Fire Department said firefighters were dispatched to the 300 block of Wast Main Street in Fairfield for a fire with heavy smoke at the former Henry McKeena distillery.

Six firefighters are at home recovering after a roof collapsed on them in Nelson County. The firefighters were battling a blaze in Fairfield at the old Henry McKenna Distillery site. The building had been converted into apartments, which is where the fire started.
