The crew of a cargo ship carrying thousands of vehicles, including 800 EVs, abandoned it off the coast of Alaska on Wednesday.

All crew members are safe after a fire broke out aboard a cargo ship south of Alaska's Adak Island. The ship was carrying 3,000 vehicles, including nearly 800 electric vehicles, bound for Mexico.

The U.S. Coast Guard responded to a cargo ship that caught fire about 300 miles from Adak, Alaska, on Wednesday.
