The Memphis-Shelby County Schools board on Tuesday night voted to fire Superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins. The vote came amid widespread community backlash, possible state intervention and a deep division amongst board members.

The two meetings Tuesday evening lasted hours, with almost 60 public commenters. The board also named an interim superintendent.

Before the MSCS board fired Dr. Feagins, attorney Robert Spence presented what he said were the facts of the allegations against the superintendent.
