In a significant relief for Isha Foundation and its founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the Supreme Court on Friday closed the habeas corpus proceedings filed against the foundation. The case was initiated by a man who alleged that his two adult daughters were being held captive at the ashram of Isha Foundation in Coimbatore.

The top court noted both women were major and have stated that they were residing at the ashram voluntarily and without any coercion.

To a man’s charge that his two daughters were held captive inside the Coimbatore foundation, the top court noted both women were adults and were staying of their own volition.

A bench led by CJI Chandrachud, Justices Pardiwala and Misra, noted both women, aged 42 and 39, were staying at the ashram voluntarily.

The Supreme Court dismissed a father's habeas corpus petition, confirming that his adult daughters willingly reside at Sadhguru's Isha Yoga Centre. The court determined no further action was necessary,
