Video showing a Russian-built MiG-29 patrolling skies over Tehran has emerged just days after Iran received the jets.

Iran has signed a $25 billion agreement with Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom to build four nuclear power plants in Iran, IRNA news agency said on Friday. Rosatom previously said it had signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday on the construction of small nuclear power plants in Iran but gave no number.

Tehran and Moscow have signed a $25bn deal to build four nuclear power reactors in southern Iran, according to Iranian state media.

Russia and Iran agreed to a $25 billion deal on Friday in which Russia will build multiple nuclear power plants in Iran.

Russian and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday on the construction of small nuclear power plants in Iran, Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom said.

“Russian MiG-29 fighter jets have arrived in Iran and are stationed in Shiraz, while Sukhoi Su-35 jets are also on the way,” Zohrevand said. He added that China ’s HQ-9 air defense system and Russia ’s S-400 system were being supplied to Iran “in significant numbers.”

Eslami said Iran and Russia have agreed to build eight new nuclear power plants in Iran, signalling deeper cooperation between the two countries and that formal agreements would be signed shortly, allowing construction work to begin. Eslami added that the goal is to help Iran reach 20 GWe of nuclear energy capacity by the year 2040.
