In the Chicago suburb of Broadview on Friday, ICE used tear gas, less-lethal rounds, flash bang grenades and pepper balls to quell protests outside an immigration detention center, the latest standoff in what have become near-daily demonstrations calling to close the facility.

Current demonstrations involve dozens of protesters compared to the mass protests following George Floyd's death in 2020.

Bondi's announcement, posted in a video on X, comes days after suspected gunman Joshua Jahn, 29, opened fire on a Dallas ICE facility from a nearby rooftop, in what the FBI has described as a "targeted attack" on federal law enforcement.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) was named among nearly 30 elected officials by the White House in a list on Friday, with the Trump administration claiming she is among those who incited violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents throughout the U.

Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered Justice Department agents to guard Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention centers and ordered investigations into previous attacks.

The raids resulted in some 150 people across Brevard being taken into custody and bused to waiting federal holding facilities, state officials confirmed during a Friday press conference. Another 200 suspected illegal immigrants were arrested in surrounding counties, confirmed Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Chief Gregory Bovino was on the scene in Broadview beginning Saturday morning, and he seems to have stayed through the evening.

Federal officers again fired rubber pellets and chemical irritants into a crowd of protesters gathered Friday outside the fenced-off compound.
