A senior Israel Defence Forces (IDF) commander was killed by a booby trap in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Israel’s military said. Colonel Ehsan Daqsa, 41, died when he was hit by an explosion after leaving his tank to walk to an observation point near the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Israeli brigade commander Colonel Ahsan Daksa was killed in a blast in Jabalia, northern Gaza, while fighting Hamas. Daksa, a Druze community member, was appointed four months ago and was leading the offensive.
