Denmark bans all civilian drone flights this week due to EU summit
COPENHAGEN: Denmark will ban all civilian drone flights across the country this week to ensure security as Copenhagen hosts an EU summit gathering heads of government, the transport ministry said Sunday (Sep 28).
Denmark's defense chief has called a series of unidentified drones being spotted near airports and military installations a "hybrid attack."
Smaller airports in southern Denmark also reported drone activity, but were not closed. This morning, Danish authorities categorised it as a "hybrid attack" that came from a "professional actor". The drones were launched locally, they said, but they did not directly blame Russia - or anyone else.
It wasn’t immediately clear who was behind the flyover. But Denmark’s prime minister and NATO’s secretary-general said Tuesday that Russian involvement couldn’t be ruled out.
