Denmark’s drone flight ban highlights security concerns and the need for better tech to distinguish authorized from unauthorized drones.

Denmark is receiving security assistance from NATO allies ahead of a high-level meeting of European leaders in Copenhagen this week after a wave of drone incursions that authorities say may be linked to Russia.

Drone overflights again caused disruptions at Danish airports on Wednesday night, officials said, in the latest instance of unexplained drone sightings.

Following repeated drone alerts in Denmark, the government in Copenhagen said on Monday it is facing a new reality. Since Thursday, there have been no significant disruptions to Danish air traffic, Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard said at a press conference.
