Jasmine Paolini beat Coco Gauff 6-4, 6-2 in the Italian Open women’s singles final on Saturday to become the first Italian player to win the tournament in 40 years, before repeating the feat in the doubles final on Sunday.

Andy Roddick was full of praise for Jasmine Paolini's performance in the Rome Open final as the 2003 US Open champion thought the Italian had great tactics and an outstanding execution. On Saturday, the 29-year-old became the first Italian female tennis player since 1985 to win Rome after ousting Coco Gauff in the final 6-4 6-2.
