Bieber underwent right ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction in April 2024, and has been working his way back for a return mid 2025 season. The Guardians provided an update on Bieber’s rehab ahead of the start of spring training.

Bieber (elbow) is scheduled to begin throwing off a mound in mid-February. Bieber has progressed to playing catch five times per week and has expanded the distance out to 120 feet. The veteran right-hander had Tommy John surgery last April and is not expected back until around midseason.
