The Houston Astros' clubhouse was energized Friday as players welcomed back Carlos Correa, then raved about his abilities with the bat and glove as well as with his leadership.

Correa signed a six-year, $200 million contract with the Minnesota Twins before the 2023 season began. He was part of the Twins' first playoff series win in 21 years, and an obvious leader in the clubhouse. But with the team in fire sale mode, it suddenly made sense for him to return to his old stomping ground.

Carlos Correa wasn’t going to waive his no-trade clause for any other team. “My wife hates the cold,” the 2017 World Series champion said before making his Astros return in Friday night’s game against the Boston Red Sox.
